摘要:清华大学发布2019年全球共同发展研究院第二期夏季荣誉高中生计划 (Roan Program),2019年招收中国籍学生20人,美国籍学生20人。

    开展目的

    通过暑期在清华、哈佛、华尔街+麻省理工4周的学习,找到学生个性化、多样化发展的需求,培养中美高中学生对中美文化差异的互相理解,培养其跨文化意识。提高学生的科技、商业、文化、艺术素养,培养学生自主发展能力和合作沟通能力。

    2018年本项目首次在北京、波士顿两地举办,通过中美高中学生+清华本科生+哈佛本科生+ MIT 本科生等共同参加荣计划(Roan Program)项目,达到理解中国文化、了解中国历史、感受中国新经济发展,并增加对清华的感性认识,感知更创新、更国际、更人文、更从容的清华,也为美国优秀高中生了解和报考清华创造条件。

    * 清华大学全球共同发展研究院于2016年1月15日经清华大学校务会议批准设立,是清华大学校级科研机构,挂靠清华大学社会科学学院。

    清华时段 : 清华经管学院、社科学院、大数据研究中心、环保学院等教授,聘请优秀清华本科生做辅导员

    哈佛时段 : 哈佛教授、哈佛在校本科学生

    华尔街+ MIT 时段: 资深银行专家 、 MIT在校本科或研究生

    报名 :

    1) 年龄要求在14-17周岁之间;

    2)英文良好

    3)2019年7月已经完成初二学习的中国籍学生

    4)2019年6月已经完成8年级学习的美国籍学生

    2018年荣计划总结

    The Roan program pairs talented students from around the world to study together and learn from another, as they immerse themselves in a global education at both the US and China’s top caliber institutions. The Roan Program hopes to create a highly engaged global alumni network in order to promote the awareness and participation of these scholars, as well as support them in the next stage of their college lives.

    荣誉高中生计划将来自世界各地的有才华的同学聚集在一起,使他们在接受中美最高学府的全球化多样性教育的同时,一同学习,互通有无。荣计划希望通过创造一个高参与度的全球性校友网络,来实现促进学生们的认知与参与,并且在他们大学生活阶段中提供支持的效果。

    荣誉高中生计划今年在清华阶段安排了为期一周的学习生活。来自世界各地的同学们接受了清华大学包含经管学院、马克思主义学院等等多个学院优秀教授的指导,同时在每晚自习时间与由清华大学本科生担任的辅导员共同加深对于白天课程的理解,并且完成了部分由辅导员设计的拓展视野的相关学习。

    The Tsinghua portion of the program was one week long. Students from all around the world came to Tsinghua University to take classes at the School of Economics and Management and School of Marxism, as well as many other colleges within the university. In addition, the students studied under the tutelage of Tsinghua University undergraduate students every night, to help them better understand the course material and take part in team-building events.

    课程方面,同学们学习了商业领域基础的会计学相关内容、时下正热的大数据与人工智能概论、经济发展同时必须重视的环境保护问题、等等,涉及多个角度,激发了同学们较为浓厚的兴趣与学习热情,给予了同学们了解各个专业的机会,有助于同学们提前进行对于大学专业选择的思考。

    In terms of courses, the students studied the basics of business as well as accounting related content, the current trend in big data and artificial intelligence, as well as sustainable development with respect to environmental protection issues. This broad coursework stirred the enthusiasm and learning interest among the students, as well as help them deliberate over their choice in college majors ahead of time.

    课外同学们在清华校园完成了部分体验活动,包含清华大学艺术博物馆的参观、清华大学校史馆的参观与聆听讲解、清华大学之名建筑与艺术品的寻找、等等。通过这些活动,同学们更加立体、完整、全面地了解了清华大学在学术之外的情况,感受到了清华大学各个方面的吸引力。

    Outside of classes, the students also learned more about life on campus, by taking a visit to the Tsinghua Art Museum, touring the Tsinghua University History museum, and searching for famous architecture around campus, etc. Through these activities the students gained a more complete, comprehensive understanding of Tsinghua University’s academic environment, as well as experience the other aspects of Tsinghua that make it great.

    在与辅导员的相处过程中,同学们更加轻松地表达自己的观点、阐述自己的意见,更好地理解课程内容,同时通过辅导员设计的团队建设活动以及部分理论的体验学习活动,同学们的联系更加紧密、视野更加开阔、更加及时地反映了自己的意见、提升了体验。

    In the process of getting along with the counselors, the students felt it was easier to express their own opinions, as well as comprehend the course material. Similarly, the students were able to build strong bonds through the nightly team building activities, as well as expand their vision, and reflect their opinions in a timely manner.

    同时,在清华大学期间,同学们在普林斯顿大学中国中心与负责老师以及一位来自普林斯顿大学的本科生学长进行了交流,了解了普林斯顿大学的基本情况,并且通过学长的经历分享,更加真实地了解了普林斯顿大学的学习生活,并且记录了自己感兴趣的部分以此进行自己心仪大学之间的比较与选择。

    During the third to last day of the program, the students went to the Princeton Center at Tsinghua University to talk to a Mike Kaminsky, a Princeton Undergraduate student currently on exchange at the School of Economics and Management. He told them about life at the university, and compared and contrasted his study in China with that of Princeton. The students asked very insightful questions, which provoked a thoughtful discussion.

    While at Harvard College the students were taught by various Harvard Undergraduate students, who informed the students about their lives in college and their experience applying to Harvard and American schools in general. In addition to relaying their experience, the Harvard undergrad Students also taught the Roan Program students the fundamentals of a college interview, policy style debate, and how to decide which college is the right fit.

    在哈佛大学本科校园期间,学生们接受了不同的哈佛大学本科生的分享与指导,内容包含校园生活体验、申请哈佛大学的经验、以及总体介绍美国学校的情况。同时,哈佛大学本科生们也针对大学面试、不同风格辩论以及大学的选择给出了一般的指导。

    At Harvard Business School the students formulated their own original business ideas, first by developing a three-minute elevator pitch, and then expanding their elevator pitch to incorporate a business model, design plan, and steps they’d take to turn that model into a reality. During their time at HBS the students found many opportunities to collaborate together, significantly strengthening the bond of the first cohort. In their final day at HBS, the students had a surprise class with Harvard Business School Chief Technology Officer Rick Kamal about metacognitive skills and the different tools one can use to achieve success in life.

    在哈佛大学商业基本课程学习期间,学员们进行了商业计划的策划工作。他们的计划源自生活中的思考,也是自己的原创想法,他们先后完成了三分钟的电梯游说、扩展成为商业模型、设计规划以及将计划落地所需的必要步骤,例如消费者调研等等。在这个阶段中,同学们不仅体验了完整的商业计划,而且有很多机会共同合作,以此显着地稳固了同学们间的联系。同学们在最后一天与哈佛大学商学院首席技术官Rick Kamal先生共同完成了一堂关于元认知以及学习工具与技巧的课程。

    During their brief study at MIT the students attended computer programming classes, where they learned python, including its application and basic line coding. They also used algorithmic thinking to solve mathematic puzzles presented to them by the undergraduate students. Finally, the students compared and contrasted Harvard and MIT, taking notes about what makes the ideal college, and how that varies from person to person.

    同学们在麻省理工大学学习生活期间,参与了电脑编程课程,并从中学到了部分Python的知识,包括其基本应用和简单的编写。同时,他们在老师们的指导下,进行了部分算法思维的训练,运用其解决了部分数学难题。最终,同学们根据自己三周的体验,对比了哈佛大学与麻省理工学院,同时记录了自己心目中理想大学的要素,了解了选择大学需要根据个人情况个性化地进行选择。
